About Sydney-Gene
Sydney-Gene graduated from Kennesaw State University in May 2024 with a Major in Digital Animation and a Minor in Professional Writing. Her main focuses are
storyboarding, writing, and production.
During her time in school, she co-founded the Women in Animation Club (WIA KSU). She served as Vice president for her first term and as President during her second term (2022 - 2024). During her presidential term, the WIA KSU organization was nominated for a KSU Division of Student Affairs Leadership Award; Sydney-Gene was also nominated for her own leadership award due her contributions as club president.
As a student, Sydney-Gene was involved in many career-related volunteer positions. Her volunteer roles ranged from being a greeter at the Atlanta Film Festival (2023) to being a volunteer coordinator for Georgia Game Developers Association's (GGDA) SeigeCon at DreamHack (2023).
The most notable of Sydney-Gene's volunteer work would be her staff position for ASIFA-South, an international animation society. She worked under their Marketing Department as a Liaison for eleven months before transferring to their Business Department as a Committee member. (2023 - Current)
Though her roles as President of WIA KSU and as a Marketing Liaison for ASIFA-South,
Sydney-Gene was able to pitch to WIA ATL about hosting a collaborative event between the three organizations. Sydney-Gene served as one of the event coordinator and over saw the volunteers, the decorations, the event itinerary and coordinated the four panelists and six portfolio reviewers.
